Row for the Cure– June 3rd
Boys Novice 8: Boys placed 5th in their race. (Krumm, Alnwick, Budd, Madison, Decker, Butt, Knaster, Horan C-Verrilli).
Girls Novice 8: The girls placed 3rd and 4th in their race. The M&M’s boat (O’Connell, Cannon, Cowles, Rodriguez, Merritt, Rojas, Culley, Moore, C-Sanford) placed third, while the Social Butterflies (Overton, Garrell, Gavaletz, Steigerwald, Bodo, Donnelley, Heslin, Curcio, C-Jurkowski) placed fourth.
Mixed Masters: The FDR Old Folks and Two Little Ladies (Runne, Beckman, Johnson, Bosco, Guercio, Green, Sisung, VG, C-Floyd) placed fourth. The FDR Alumni placed first.
HVRL Novice Champs– May 20th
Boys Frosh 8: The boys Freshman 8 (Dawson, Brown, Speare, Malcarne, Hummel, Berkowitz, Lee, Sardinas, C-Green) takes first again, dominating the race over Wappingers.
Boys Modified 8: The Modified 8 (Wajda, Decker, Budd, Madison, Knaster, Horan, Krumm, Alnwick, C- Clavin) race was cancelled, so the boys rowed in a stacked novice race. After a confusing finish by FDR and Wappingers, the boys remained dominant, pulling out a win over Wappingers.
Girls Frosh 8: The girls Freshman 8 (Babcock, Pritchard, Schappert, Johnson, Borschel, Macconnel, Rowland, Fakhouri, C-Kern) walked away with another first place. Shout out to an outstanding performance to the Arlington girls and Arianna.
Girls Modified 8: The girls modified 8 (Morris, Gavaletz, Steigerwald, Moffit, Bodo, Heslin, Babcock, Curcio, C-Verrilli) emerged victorious from their race, despite some tough competition.
Girls Novice 8: One of the toughest races of the day, the novice 8 (O’Connell, Ceron, Babcock, Rodriguez, Merritt, Cannon, Culley, Heslin C-Jurkowski) took third.
Girls Novice 4: The girls novice 4 (Overton, Donnelly, Cowles, Garrell, C-Sanford) did a fantastic job racing. The girls finished in a solid third place.
Mixed Novice 8: The mixed 8 (Morris, Garrell, Knaster, Green, Cowles, Rojas, Madison, Butt, C-Floyd) finished in fourth in the largest race of the day. Good job to everyone involved in making this the biggest and best race of the day!
Triangulars– May 5th, 2018
Boys novice 8: Boys (Hummel, Wajda, Budd, Berkowitz, Decker, Horan, Krumm, Alnwick, C- Clavin) won with a come from behind victory. The boys finished in 5:15.
Boys Freshman 8: With some help from the novice team, the Freshman eight (Dawson, Brown, Speare, Malcarne, Hummel, Berkowitz, Lee, Sardinas, C-Green) dominated the race with the fastest time of the day (4:47)
Girls novice 8: The first novice 8 (Morris, Donnelly, Steigerwald, Moffit, Cowles, Gavaletz, Bodo, Moore, C-Jurkowski) placed a solid 2nd. The second novice 8 (Overton, Garrell, Babcock, Rodriguez, O’Connell, Cannon, Merritt, Culley, C-Sanford) placed third, with an incredibly fast 5:19.
Girls novice 4: The girls novice 4 (Morris, Steigerwald, Cowles, Donnelly, C-Jurkowski) placed second.
Girls Freshman 8: With some help from the novice team the girls freshman 8 (Babcock, Pritchard, Schappert, Johnson, Moffit, Macconnel, Rowland, Fakhouri, C-Kern) placed second in their race.
Mixed novice 8: The mixed eight (O’Connell, Cannon, Gavaletz, Madison, Butt, Melendez, Garrell, Heslin, C-Sanford) placed a close second in a packed race. Great job team on a great day of racing!
